Oil filter Fram or STP

IMO, best bang for your buck is Fram XG6607.

Mobil 1 filters and Fram Ultra filters are good too. Just don't use the the cheap Fram extra guard filter. It's made of paper. The Ultra is higher quality

Used fram for 2 years and not a single issue

Use the right oil from Walmart or whatever and I used a fram oil filter. I used a higher end one then the standard orange box one. Never had any issues.

Decades ago some of em would collapse and send crap into your oil pan and worse. So I was told anyway; left a bad taste in a lot of older mechanics mouths.

These days they are fine.

I do not know very many mechanics or race people who swear by wix or fram on cars that are mechanically more complex. i.e. high compression motors, vvt, etc.

Definitely use a black OEM filter, you need the correct bypass pressure and the blues are made by fram which is legit made of trash

I would NOT buy a Fram oil filter unless it was their extended life triple safety whizz bang super dooper model, the plain ones are awful.

I would move away from Fram, their oil filters are garbage even their premium stuff.

I have never liked fram, they always cut corners in one way or another.
