Mobil 1 filters and Fram Ultra filters are good too. Just don't use the the cheap Fram extra guard filter. It's made of paper. The Ultra is higher quality
Used fram for 2 years and not a single issue
Use the right oil from Walmart or whatever and I used a fram oil filter. I used a higher end one then the standard orange box one. Never had any issues.
I'll probably get downvoted for this, but Fram is perfectly fine and the higher line (Ultra / XG) gets excellent reviews. I've been using Fram on everything for years, including a boosted Mazdaspeed Protegé, my Miata, a Lexus, etc. Never an issue. I use the XG line for both my Miata and my daily driver 3, as it has excellent construction and fantastic filtration ratings. As an added bonus, the textured section of the filter means that I never have to use tools and I've never had a Fram seize or be a pain to remove (unlike other brands I've used in the past).
Well she ran out of free oil changes at VW and so I went online to research which oil is recommended to use in the VW and found that just to buy the filter and enough oil that meets the VW specification requirements would cost close to $80. I can buy the stuff to do an oil change in the Lexus for less than $30
I once got a filter without the threads tapped in it. Just a smooth center hole. They swapped it for another Fram but I didn’t love putting on a customer’s car
Yeah, their not the best, unfortunately there the only one besides OEM for my Motorcycle
Fram filters are trash. I bought a fram for a new engine and upon fire up the lifters would clatter while it refilled the filter.
Fram made my oil light indicator flicker every time I turned from a stop.
Fram are by far the worst brand I've seen. Fram filters have cardboard caps on the element that can come apart. Some of them don't even crimp the ends of the element to prevent unfiltered oil from going through the gap.
