I’m almost 60. I have exclusively used Fram on every car I’ve owned and I have never had an oil related issue. If you’re planning on not changing your oil for 10k or more then it may be an issue.

Pros: no oil related issues, reliable

I've used fram oil filters since 2009, never once had a problem. Vehicles ive used them on: chevy impala, honda crv, mitsubishi eclipse cross, volkswagen jetta, vilkswagen tiguan, nissan frontier. Each of which has surpassed 100k miles with 0 issues. I never understood the hate.

Pros: never a problem, 0 issues
Mileage: 100000 km

Fram Oil filter

That's a poor quality filter on there, last oil change must have been at a quickie lube. People will argue left and right about which filter, but the fram gold XG series filters with the grippy paint on them are great, and usually under 10 bucks.

Pros: fram gold XG series filters
Cons: poor quality filter
Vehicle: Chevrolet Suburban

The oil filter *would not* come off and just got crushed when I put a wrench on it. I ended up cutting it apart to use the oil passages to turn it, and when I cut it up I discovered that the oil filter was completely empty besides a small cardboard tube.\n\nThat filter looked like a FRAM, but instead of a filter had been filled with a roll of toilet paper.

Cons: completely empty, filled with toilet paper
