Oil filter Fram or AMSOIL

AMSOIL Oil filter

I just go to the amsoil website and get the oil that they suggest, I've taken cars well over 200k with that advice. Don't overthink it. If you don't want to use amsoil for the oil, at least see if they have a low micron oil filter.

Pros: cars well over 200k
Mileage: 321869 km

AMSOIL Oil filter

I use Amsoil Signature Series & OEM filter.

Just change it every 6,000km and you’ll be good. Use synthetic, but brand isn’t as important as proper drain intervals.

Pros: Amsoil Signature Series, OEM filter
Mileage: 6000 km

Fram Oil filter

That's a poor quality filter on there, last oil change must have been at a quickie lube. People will argue left and right about which filter, but the fram gold XG series filters with the grippy paint on them are great, and usually under 10 bucks.

Pros: fram gold XG series filters
Cons: poor quality filter
Vehicle: Chevrolet Suburban

My girl and I were out one night in my pickup. 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 5.3L nothing special. Did a few donuts in the local parking lot in some fresh fallen snow. I didn't even thrash, just a couple easy revs for fun. Oil pressure dropped down a bunch. Turns out the GD element inside the filter blew apart and pieces of it were all over inside my motor. Took 4 oil changes to flush it out. Coulda been a lot worse.

Cons: filter element blew apart, oil pressure dropped
