I've switched from standard to the Bosch ones last summer and it significantly improved the acceleration on my 124 Abarth. Prior to the switch I'd see lots of misfires and "bumps" in the power delivery curve. The Bosch set was not a hard sale with being under 280€/260$ here in CZ. Highly recommended for anyone with power mods.
I have OEM Bremi coil pack now. the original Bremi OEM coil went 15+ years and survived 1 OEM cat and 2 magnaflow cats.
I replaced my coil around the same time, and no start failures for me either.
I gave the Jetta back to my son last week after replacing the coil. No issues yet - but mine was happening less frequently.
Been over a week with the new coil installed. No failures.
Yes, it's installed, and I have not had any failures since Monday. It was failing maybe every other day, maybe two times in a day.
So far, it's been four days without an engine start failure since replacing the ignition coil.
This is a new Bosch coil (but also happened with old coil), wires, cap, rotor, and plugs as mentioned above.
I have changed the ignition coils, spark plugs, MAP sensor, fuel filter, and ran fuel cleaner in the tank twice. The only time it seemed better was for a couple of months after I changed ignition coils (Bosch).
One of my Bosch coils went bad within 13 months. Probably would have happened with Delphi for all my luck. Nevertheless, I returned all six to FCPEuro for lifetime replacement warranty.
