Headlights Depo or OEM Volkswagen
Oem is the best option, you can find deals on eBay or online sometimes, second best is depo aftermarket brand replacement headlights, not as good quality but the price is right.
The Depos came with H4/H1 and I upgraded to LED. The new reflector design is much better than factory and give it a fresh look. They would be "ok" with H bulbs but the LEDs def throw better light.
DEPO is pretty much the most popular aftermarket brands. Kinda pricey, but I’ve had mine on my car for 2 years, and I have no idea how long they had been on before then. I cracked one of the covers and was able to order a replacement for less than $50.
Definitely Depo. Well known brand, they fit perfectly and are made for cars equipped with the halogens standard. They also look exactly like OEM.
I bought a used pair of almost new Depo 9-3 2003-2008 headlights, nice beam pattern and performance.
I'm happy with my Depo ones, but have only had them installed for like 4 or 5 months.
I have depo on my e36. They didn't fit too well to install, but they go in. Yhe harness is pretty easy installation. One positive and others to the lights
So it looks like VW has stripped away a lot from their 2017 models, mainly the Beetle and Jetta. The GLI is down to one trim and no options again. They even removed the Bi-Xenon headlights.
Can verify: B7 NMS Passat headlights are complete garbage. Aftermarket HIDs are almost required.
There should be a lower category specifically for the Passat. worst. headlights. ever. The shame is that a big part of the problem is that they are simply aimed at the ground about 100' in front of the car.
