I've had a ZJ fan clutch in my XJ for about 10 years and it's been fine without any modifications. Somehow I got away with it fitting in mine with a Proliance Heatbuster radiator and then again when I switched that radiator out for a Mishimoto.
The Mishimoto mk3 aluminum radiator is pretty close to the weight of the OEM plastic end tanked radiator.
Best one to get is the Nissens 68001A. I just put one in my 2000 9-5. For some reason Rock Auto only lists it as fitting 2001 but it will fit a 1999-2001.
Im going to be replacing my radiator soon with all coolant connection and hoses, does anyone know the difference between the radiator std and heavy duty one? STD: Nissens #652011 Heavy duty: Nissens #65011
The Nissens number is 65264 which is what I eventually ordered.
I was able to shove a cabriolet (nissesns brand) in there...it's stuffed all the way to the left. anyway, it keeps the 1.8t cool without any issues
No worries with the nissen branded radiator. I have installed tons of them into mk3 vr6 cars over the years with no issues. They fit perfect and the quality is very good. I have a mk3 fitment nissens branded radiator in my a2vr6 also that I installed a few years ago. It cools the car perfectly fine on both the street and the drag strip.
I have heard mixed reviews on the Mishimoto
Stay away from Mishi. That is certified garbage juice.
i've never really heard good things about mishimoto's fitment and for 500 bucks you could find better mods to do.
