I'd recommend using some Valvoline for your oil changes from now on, particularly their Restore & Protect line. It shut those noisy lifters up in 2 oil changes on my old '09 Avalon, and good lord did it flush out a bunch of gunk I didn't know was in there. I got a few MPG's more after it was said and done, too, and she ran happy.

Pros: quiets lifters, flushes gunk, improved MPG
Vehicle: Toyota Avalon

VALVOLINE Engine oil

I used to use Rotella T4 as recommended by many on the forums. It was fine but I switched to Valvoline 20w50 because it has the additional Zinc like the Rotella T4, and a bit better film strength which protects bearings at high RPM.

Pros: better film strength
Vehicle: Mazda
