Everyone in the Oldsmobile community recommends Rotella
My machinist loves it
I use it in my 66
I used to use Castrol GTX 20W50 oil with Bardahl B2 additive, but after some discussion on the Bob is the oil guy forum, I decided to try a lighter oil: Shell Rotella 15W40 without any additive. It feels a bit easier to start and runs great (but it did ran great before). However, the oil pressure is certainly lower
FWIW, I've run AMSoil in my 2003 WRX since new, and I like it. What actually sold me on it was when I did my first oil change. The used oil still feels new when you run it over your fingers. And the engine still runs just fine.
I'm one of those people that uses Amsoil. I use their European 5w40 and change the oil every 10K or 1 year, whichever occurs first. Never needed to add any oil between changes.
I've used Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 and 0w-40 in my AQY. (we have cold winters here) Both seem to work well, no additional lifter noises, normal mileage. Engine sounded good even just before this years oil change.
Shell T6 rottella can be found for $10-12 (us) per gallon after sale and rebate. It is worth stocking lol.
Go find some Shell Rotella T6 at Walmart and use that. 5W-40, and it is rated JASO-MA so it's safe for wet clutch applications. I run it in both bikes and my car; it stands up to sheer and fuel dilution well.
Rotella T6. Don't waste your money on special bike oil. I used it in my ninja 250, my sumo, my speed triple. same oil for everything.
Here is what I've been using on the Gen3 1.8t (2014 passat) - http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...otor-oil/european/european-car-formula-5w-40-synthetic-motor-oil/?code=aflqt-ea . Works really well with a 5K OCI.
Anyway, this guy starts talking about this brand, AMSoil, about how it leaves 1/3 the deposits of Mobil 1.
