I use my 09 Fit as a courier vehicle. I've driven over 80,000 miles in 14 months. If I did oil changes every 5k miles, I'd be under the car every 3 weeks.
I just follow the maintenance minder, which works out to 10k miles, give or take, but I've done that over all the 175,000 miles I've put on it in 10 years. I use Castrol GTX high mileage, but I'm sure it doesn't make much difference. I've seen a lot of stuff saying Walmart Supertech is probably just as good,if not better than name brand oils.
I do my own valve adjustments, and the inside of the engine is nice and clean...
I drive my car pretty hard, so 5k is preferred for me.
I change mine every 5K.
Worth the piece of mind to me considering it a turbo engine.
I do mine every 5k. It maybe adds one extra oil change a year for me, if that.
For the UK, cheap and good: Mannol Fully Bi-Synthetic Engine Oil Longlife 3 5w30
The car runs well, no problems starting up, no significant oil burning.
I use Mannol 7715 on my 3.0tdi
I've always put Honda GN4 in mine and whatever recommended weight stated in your manual :)
I use the mannol 5w30, it might be cheap but it's still just as slippy
Genuinely speaking, it's actually not bad oil at all. Apparently manufactured in Germany, meets or exceeds the OEM spec for my cars. In my 350Z which likes to drink oil, I change it using Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-40 but I keep a bottle of this (also 5W-40) in the boot for top ups.
Did the break in oil change at 750 miles on my FL5 and was shocked at how bad the oil was. If you took a bright light to it there was lots of fine metallic debris in there.
