Use better oil and change every 5k My Audi S6 would go through a quart every 5k That's when I change the oil -- Mobile 1 --extended 15k oil - Ive put 90k miles on it in the past 10 years it still runs strong!

Pros: runs strong, extended oil

I use mobile 1 0w40. I've thought about switching to liquid moly but everytime I see a comparison between the two mobile 1 outperforms.

Pros: outperforms liquid moly

I once used the 20k mile oil, but changed it at 12k; my engine seemed to run nore smoothly, after that. I swore off longer oil change intervals and went back to regular Mobil 1.

Pros: engine ran more smoothly
Mileage: 12000 km

Recently got my first oil change at 5K and used mobil 1 0w40. The engine is now louder as compared to what it originally was. Not sure if it is the oil being too thin? or perhaps the cold weather.

Cons: engine louder
Mileage: 5000 km
