2013 Volvo XC 90. Owned since new, only used Penzoil Euro L formulation, all synthetic, 10W-30 and 143K miles later I had to get rid of her because I left the country. No engine issues at all.
Switched to Pennzoil Platinum for my current car and the engine is noticeably quieter (doesn't have the same mild clattery-ness from the valvetrain like with Mobil 1), and it doesn't burn either
Make sure to use dexos GM approved oil or that thing will start making weird noises. I’ve only used Mobil 1 and not had any issues. Stay away from the cheapest stuff. You might regret it later.
I run Pennzoil almost exclusively. Especially, in my Dodge/Jeep because it meets the OE specifications.
I used to only use Mobil-1, now I use Penzzoil. I go with whoever has the best rebate at the time. they are all fine.
Mobil3000 5W-30 even boosted my oil pressure and helped with cooling.
140K '19 Tigi 2.0T, switched from Valvoline 5W20 Syn to Mobil 1 0W20 ESP (Dexos D). Changed oil due to oil consumption and secondary air injection DTC. The "latest" member of the Mobil 1 family touts lower emissions (less vapor in the PCV system).
Mobil1. Period. Years of personal experience. When I was in my 20's twenty years ago I was using Motul too because everyone else was and I didnt know any better. Try them out. Detergents, how clean the oil remains after each oil change and how smooth it runs were some deciding factors for me.
Mobil 1. Used to be a valvoline guy but my motor blew up lol. Dont think brand had anything to do with it, just felt like shaking things up.
I tried pennzoil and didn't like it. The engine developed a soft tick after about 3k miles. Went back to Castrol and the tick hasn't returned.
