Engine oil Mobil or OEM Toyota
Mobil 1 ESP 5W40
Mobil1 is great oil and what I personally use.
While I didn't own a 2018 (mine was 2013 hybrid -> 2022 prime), here's my short list:
Electric gives a huge increase in torque from 10-50mph
Mechanic told me the oil came out barely darker than it went in on the last change. ~80% electric miles
One of my cars has 240,000 miles and burns 1/2 a quart in 10,000 miles using Mobile 1 5W-20
I’ll do the 15k oil change soon with Toyota OEM 0w-16, which is made by M1 but has a much higher moly content than the regular retail M1 oil.
My 2009 1.33 likes both 5w30 (or 0w30) and 0w20. Out of the factory they came with 5w30, but toyota later recommended the switch with the 1.33 engine. With normal use and lower speeds 0w20 is best, if you drive a lot at higher rpms than 5w30 would be better (at130kmu/3200rpm 5w30 is smoother).
10W-40 full synthetic Mobil 1 fixed that on my 05 Rio with the B6 Mazda engine. The sound goes away shortly after an oil change and it stays away for about 2 or 3,000 mi until the oil breaks down and it starts to make the noise again.
Mobil 1 ESp is excellent , just changed mine few days ago
Pretty pricy imo, used it once then when I consulted with friends/a family member I’ve decided to switch to Mobile 5W-40, as this helps with the temps in my area living in a desert lol.
2004 Toyota Avensis
Thing just guzzles oil. I believe the model I had was manufactured in England.
Had to top up the oil every 3000kms
