I run the extended performance Mobil 1 in my Toyotas at 15k mile intervals, with an oil filter change every 5k miles.
10w-40 Mobil 1 is the best oil you can have for your VR6 engine. Besides superior protection it also takes longer for the oil viscosity to break down.
I've used Mobile 1 in my 2.4l GM LD9 since new and it now has 188,500 miles on it with zero engine problems. I changed the timing chain myself at 160,000 miles (recommended at 150k) and it looked new with plenty of life left in the tensioner and guides. I also pulled the head and everything was shiney metal, no pits, grooves, or hot spots (uneven wear spots).
But on my motorcycle, I use Mobil 1. Yes, auto oil in a moto engine.
I use Mobil 1 on my cars. I also do a lot of off road driving which puts a good deal of stress on the engine. It's pricier, but I'm fine with paying for the added protection from additives and ability to not breakdown as much due to heat since I'm putting the engine under heavy loads at low speeds much more often than the typical consumer.
5 quarters of mobil 1 0-40 and 1 quart 15-40 mobil all syntetic, runs like a champ and very quiet
So did the oil change today. Mobil 1 0w-40, changed the filter as well, after about 20 miles I can sense a bit more smoothness and slightly better throttle response as compared to whatever else was there.
Mobil1 ESP 5w-30. It's a 507 oil and it's available at Walmart and most auto parts stores.
I too use Mobile1 0w40. Burns maybe 1/3 of a quart every 7000 miles. Not bad at all.
When I did my oil change about 800-900 miles ago I used Mobil 1 0w-40 and so far I'm loving it more than which was last in there which was 5w-40 used at a VW dealer them selves.
