LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

I use liquimoly leichtlauf 5w-40. Bit of advice: these are VERY easy to overfill if you're not careful, so refill slowly. Put in less than you think you need, once it registers on the oil level sensor, then start the car for a minute. After that, leave if for a few hours to drain before continuing to fill.

Pros: easy to use
Cons: easy to overfill
Vehicle: Porsche

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

I buy Liqui Moly 6200 from germanparts.ca for about $70/5L. Our Tiguan consumes a lot of oil sadly, so I buy a lot of it. My mechanic recently recommended using Liquid Moly 2331 (Leichtlauf) 5W40 to see if it helps with oil consumption, and have had that in for the last month or so.

Cons: high oil consumption

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

Had an E63 that I recently traded with almost 200K miles, a few months ago I scoped my 1 and 5 cylinders and they had what I would consider normal to no wear. So as a DIY'r, here are my observations, This is a bigger issue in the States than it is in Europe. ... Keeping the engine clean is key. Frequent oil changes no more than 5k mi, using quality oil and fleece filters, formerly a Mobil 1 guy, now using LiquiMoly.

Pros: normal to no wear, switched to this brand

Whatever weight the owner's manual says it takes, I'd use that. You'll definitely want to go with a high quality oil though. I personally use Liqui-moly... I have 192,000 on my 2012 A6, and she's still purring right along, a lot of which in my opinion has to do with the higher end oil.

Pros: high quality oil
Vehicle: Audi A6
Mileage: 192000 km

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

For those who aren't certain about which oil to use, I've read that the "fully synthetic" oil in the USA really isn't fully synthetic and the Liquid Moly stuff from ECS tuning might be a notch or two better than the Mobile 1 from WalMart*.

Pros: Liquid Moly better
Cons: Mobile 1 inferior
