Engine oil LIQUI MOLY or Mannol

liqui moly 5-40 exclusively

Molygen entirely stopped my tensioner rattle, like, didn’t reduce it, took it from 1-2 sec on startup to never rattling again

Also been using Mannol. Do 6k oil changes though. Made chain noise on start up. Swapped back to mannol noise gone.

I've used Mannol for a few years, it's dirt cheap here in the UK and I've never had any issues with it.

Using Mannol since years in Mercedes Diesel and gas engines , also in a BMW Boxer.

Liqui Moly is fantastic oil. It's a pretty fair price for me, so I always run it and have had great oil analysis when using it.

Onto my third or fourth big bottle of Mannol in a Toyota 2.2d4d and it has never missed a beat.

Liquimoly molygen 5w40 doing great in my 313k motor.

I use liquimoly leichtlauf 5w-40. Bit of advice: these are VERY easy to overfill if you're not careful, so refill slowly. Put in less than you think you need, once it registers on the oil level sensor, then start the car for a minute. After that, leave if for a few hours to drain before continuing to fill.

Ughh. How did I miss that! I thought I was just saving $5 a liter for the same thing. I am so annoyed with myself. :banghead: I just pulled up the specs for both and indeed the Synthoil has a viscosity index of 171 vs 180 for the Leichtlauf. Also the NOACK for Synthoil is 12.9% vs 10.0% for Leichtlauf. From what I can tell the 12.9% NOACK of Synthoil is what doesn't allow it to have the VW 502 00 approval.
