Engine oil LIQUI MOLY or Castrol

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

LiquiMoly is great oil. They offer oils that meet brand specific certifications like BMW’s LL-01 or GM’s LL-A and LL-B. So they’re a great option for cars with specific requirements.

Pros: great option, specific requirements
Vehicle: BMW

Castrol Engine oil

It doesn't really matter as long as you get one that meets the specifications for your car which should be VW502 in your case. Mobil 1 0w40 and Castrol 5w40 both support that and are widely available for a reasonable price.

Pros: widely available, reasonable price

Castrol Engine oil

I’ve been using Castrol’s 5w-30 with the RN0720 spec (for DPF filtered diesels like yours and mine), it’s the best oil for thins engine. 100.000km doing oil changes every 10k and it’s as good as new, very good fuel economy and no leaks

Pros: very good fuel economy, no leaks
Vehicle: Renault Clio
Mileage: 100000 km

LIQUI MOLY Engine oil

Running LM 10W-60 full synthetic in my S14. After 5000miles I can't say one is better than the other. Does the job, still has healthy color. Motul was also fine, no debris in oil filter, normal discoloration.

Pros: healthy color, does the job
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 8046 km
