Castrol Engine oil

I have a 2010 Jetta TDI cup edition with the CJAA engine and the factory spec listed in the manual is 5W-40… On top of that the oil cap alone has Castrol on it\nSo Castrol 5W-40…. End of story…. I apologize if I sound condescending as I do not mean to and also recognize you may have purchased your vehicle second hand and it may have not come with a manual… But if the top of your 710 aka oil cap says Castrol on it and you truly have a CJAA engine then I guarantee you that Castrol 5W-40 is the proper oil regardless of location or climate Ps…. Anyone who claims to use or recommend anything else has also probably had massive engine problems or engine repairs an question why they had those issues Follow factory spec and maintenance recommendations…. I’m pushing 280k on my CJAA engine without a single issue

Pros: proper oil, no engine issues
Mileage: 280000 km

Shell Engine oil

I use Shell Helix Ultra 5w30 in my 330i car. It also has BMW Long Life certification. I'm very satisfied with it and would recommend it to you. It also offers good value for money compared to other higher-end brands. You don't get better performance for the money you pay.

Pros: very satisfied, good value, good performance
Vehicle: BMW

Shell Engine oil

We use rotella t-6 5-40. Have put on well over a million miles between our vans and its been good. 10k intervals. We have on a 2019 with 260k. Never had any issues. Still on our original DPF. So it's safe to it's low ash oil.

Pros: good over million miles, no issues at 260k, original DPF, low ash oil
Mileage: 418428 km

HP Prolube is a very low quality oil compared to other oil brands in the market. Castrol has good head sound dampening, as does Rowe, both great for gear shifts and clutch feel.

Pros: good head sound dampening
Cons: very low quality
