Using Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 after watching a EN owner on YouTube suggested it. Car runs great in this 110 plus days in Texas
I did 100k on Castrol gtx in an f4i plus tens of thousands on other bikes using the same oil. I buy it in bulk and it goes in the whole fleet.
In the rare occasions I get it from there, I use Castrol or Mobil One 5W-30 or 40.
Walmart carries jugs of Castrol Edge SPT 0w40 A3/B4 for much less than quarts at AutoZone
Run it in my R, wife's GTI, and even ran it in a WRX I used to have. It's good oil, the analyses I've sent in over the years don't lie!
Castrol Edge 5W-30 for me. I live in Vegas where it barely gets under 30 degrees in winter even so it's a better oil for the hot climate in live in
Fa20 DIT..Castrol edge Euro..0w 40 winter, 5w40 the rest..111k miles, stock block, E85, 400ish whp, drive like I stole it..I change it every 3k, 4k a few times in a pinch...I also run an IAG street AOS
I bought a new air filter for carb. I reinstalled the front engine pan. I did an oil change. VW specialist recommended I go to Kendall 20w50 to fix the oil light at idle.
5w-30 Castrol LongLife in mine in Europe. But often interchangeable, but always depending on what the manual says. Top thing though I’ve found after 120k miles in on a TSI is: keep it near top of dipstick to bypass chain and turbo issues (turbo especially relies on good oil supply). Listen for rattling chain and listen to turbo note, can often hear changes and usually due to lower oil level.
Ran Kendall 15x40 for a number of years, ran Shell T4 till it got oddly hard to find, currently running Delo 15w40
Stay away from the stuff that the dealer puts in, the Euro Car formula(5w-30 i believe) that Castrol makes is a Blend, meaning not fully synthetic and it shears and burns really quick.
