Engine oil Castrol or Kendall

Castrol Engine oil

I use castrol 5w40euro but I’ve also used liquimoly 5w40 and it was also very good to me. Those are my go to’s but I’m sure many others have rec’d other good brands of 5w40 in comments.

Pros: very good

Castrol Edge 5w-40 in my 2.8 2001 Passat, 3.6 2017 Touareg, 3.0T 2014 Audi A6 and Castrol Edge 0W-40 in my 2.5 2012 Jetta. Located in Minnesota. Usually run 5W-40 year round.

Jetta was picky last winter, so switched over to 0W-40 from 5W-40. Depends on how harsh the winter, might be a good idea to go 0W-40.

Cons: Jetta was picky last winter

Castrol 5W-40 Eurocar. I live in the northeast and park outside. Car has been solid and I've used this oil since I bought it. 65k miles later, I see no reason to make a change now.

Pros: car has been solid
Mileage: 104607 km

5W-30 Castrol Edge. FPRS uses it and has had very few failures on stock motor cars. I was also running it in my GR86, and Blackstone came back perfect on that car.

Pros: very few failures, Blackstone perfect
Vehicle: Toyota

Castrol in my daily driver. The daily would have a slight ticking when warming up with other brands, not with Castrol, so I been using it for over 100k with no issues.

Pros: no ticking when warming
Cons: slight ticking with others
Mileage: 100000 km

Castrol Engine oil

Have a look on Amazon they do some good deals on oil, I normally stick it in my basket and wait for it to drop.

My old car was Castrol 5w30 Magnatec, £28.50 for 4l on Amazon £43.99 from euro.

Pros: good deals on oil

I've tried most of them. I went like 2 years doing all sorts of testing on my car and never noticed a difference. I stick with good old Castrol Edge like the factory recommends.

Pros: easily available locally
Cons: no noticed difference
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 5000 km
