On a positive note, the Honda CVT transmissions are bulletproof. There are hundreds of not thousands of 10-year-old CVT K24 Honda Accords and 1.5L non turbo CVT Honda Fits going strong at 200,000-400,000 miles with original transmissions.

Pros: bulletproof, high mileage reliability

I have a 2015 Infiniti QX60 with 100k miles and it's already on its second CVT transmission and second transfer case. Both replaced under warranty at about 70k.

Pros: replaced under warranty
Cons: crappy drivetrain, expensive to fix
Vehicle: Infiniti QX60
Mileage: 100000 km

My wife had a Nissan Cube that had a CVT transmission and it was fucked. I don’t know what was wrong with it but sometimes after stopping at a red light and you’d go to accelerate you could have your foot down to the floor and it would just drag ass then WHAM you’d start flying. My wife almost killed us a couple of times from that happened turning in intersections.

Cons: transmission failed, dangerous acceleration, drag ass then WHAM
Vehicle: Nissan Cube

Nissan in the US keeps selling crap year after year and people buy them. Those CVT's go kaboom without a doubt sooner or later. Here where I am located (Western Europe), Nissan was smart and they sell reliable cars using Renault drivetrains. They sell well.

Cons: unreliable, fail often
Vehicle: Nissan Altima
