Cabin filter OEM FORD or OEM Volkswagen

OEM FORD Cabin filter

I've changed the cabin air filter twice, rotated the tires three times (should have done that more often in hindsight), and I've replaced all the wiper blades.

Pros: replaced cabin air filter

OEM Volkswagen Cabin filter

Approaching 7k miles on 2018 GSW S 4motion 6mt, loving the car. -Warranty work to clean musty smell out of HVAC system, and replace cabin filter. This was performed free during first oil change. Dealership was excellent throughout the process and told me to not run recirc before shutting the car off.

Pros: Dealership was excellent
Cons: musty smell out
Mileage: 11265 km

OEM Volkswagen Cabin filter

I can't verify but it does seem like the OEM cabin filter in the Atlas is not charcoal activated, as I'm noticing all kinds of odors (including washer fluid) that I never got while driving my '08 Jetta with an activated charcoal filter.

Cons: not charcoal activated
Vehicle: Volkswagen

OEM FORD Cabin filter

LHM Ford pulled this on me recently too. Had a bunch of 80k mile maintenance done that I didn’t want to do myself, and the guy called me up telling me our cabin air filter was filthy and really needed replacing.

Cons: filthy, needed replacing
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 80000 km
