Brake pads Raybestos or OEM Hyundai

Raybestos Brake pads

Guy above says don’t go cheap….I just used some raybestos pads and rotors for the rear I got from rock auto for 100$. Cheap, fast and easy. First time doing brakes and despite some snags had it done in an hour.

Pros: cheap, fast, easy

Raybestos Brake pads

Fitted my 2017 with new front/rear brakes and rotors yesterday. I went with the daily driver level Raybestos brand kit from Rockauto. Included both pads and rotors with hardware. Did the work myself. While I obviously can't say anything about longevity yet, performance seems good so far. Especially for the price when compared to over double for Duralast from my local AutoZone.

Pros: good performance, good price

OEM Hyundai Brake pads

I am just now contemplating a sad goodbye to my 2003 Elantra VLE. It needs a brake job but has become a rust bucket driving in harsh winter conditions, Ottawa, Montreal.

Pros: basic maintenance diligently done
Cons: rust bucket
Vehicle: Hyundai Elantra

Raybestos Brake pads

I'm using raybestos SP436ATRH for the pads and raybestos 96632FZN for the rotors. Been using them since January and have put about 6k on them, living in a really hilly area with my drums being basically useless because the shoes have been coated in gear oil due to an axle leak. I javent had any issues with brake fade or warping and I took them on a 2hr trip to west virginia from central ohio in March.

Pros: no brake fade, no warping
Mileage: 6000 km
Part number: SP436ATRH, 96632FZN

I replaced my rear pads with Raybestos EHT1761 at 23,000 miles. I did not replace the rotors as they were undamaged. I did buy rear rotors, Powerstop EBR1697EVC. I am at 37,000 now with no dust, no noise, and minimal pad wear.

Pros: no dust, no noise, minimal wear
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 37000 km
Part number: RAYBESTOS EHT1761

Raybestos Brake pads

On rockauto, Raybestos sells the element 3 rotor and brake and rotor kit. Basically all I use for my brake changes now. Great stopping power, and pads last a good while also. Highly recomend Raybestos element 3.

Pros: great stopping power, long lasting

Raybestos Brake pads

For aftermarket pads, Raybestos have had very good fitment and quality, I dig it. Their product line is called like "el3ment" or some such.

Pros: very good fitment, good quality

OEM Hyundai Brake pads

We got our top of the line 2015 Starex brand new when it was released in 2016. Still works, did have a lot of repairs. It used to travel to and from QC to Baguio in it's early days but now mainly within Metro Manila (QC to Las Pinas, QC to Manila). It's got a lot of mileage now and the suspensions and break pads need fixing on top of having electricals reworked (fuses of some functions had to be removed cause they were malfunctioning). Basically running po siya but needs a lot of work done.

Pros: still running
Cons: a lot of repairs
Vehicle: Hyundai

Raybestos Brake pads

I've used Raybestos before on VW GTI. They had a distinct feel and reminded me of... Literally every other set of brake pads I've ever used. Just save your money bro.

Cons: distinct feel, not worth money
Vehicle: Volkswagen
