Brake pads POWER STOP or OEM Volvo
Powerstop Z26 pads are pretty good for the price. G-Loc GS-1s are nice for street use. Both are low dust.
I’ve gone with ceramic pads on my cars. Minimal brake dust, low brake fade, quiet.
I do change oil and brake pads by myself for my xc60 and xc90.
I just installed powerstop ceramic pads and blank rotors. Similar stopping power to oem but way less brake dust.
I used a decent set of coated Raybestos rotors and a set of the most expensive PowerStop pads front and rear on my last brake job on my LS 430 — came from RockAuto. The rotors haven’t warped, the pads are wearing nicely and are no where near as filthy as the Brembo’s I had been using and I can’t tell the difference between this setup and the Lexus parts. No squeaks either!
Go to an independent BMW shop. PowerStop Z23 pads are a super budget friendly option. I've run them on all 3 of my street MINIs. Very quiet and low dusting but good performance.
I switched to the Powerstop pads about a month after I bought it and haven’t had any issues with stopping at all, not even a close call (knocks on wood). They still produce dust but I don’t see it accumulating nearly as fast as the OEM Brembos.
I have front and rear power stop pads and rotors on my scat, and oem brembos on my rt both 4 piston calipers and the difference is not noticeable. I beat these brakes down and have never had an issue
Read lots of reviews for power stops but also that they started restickering different pads.
I have a 2019 XC40 and kept having brake issues - they ended up replacing the pads and rotors… at less than 15k miles. I continue to have issues (now it’s nothing serious, just a very loud obnoxious squeal)
