Brake pads OEM Toyota or Hawk Performance

My latest setup is below and works well for the handful of HPDE’s I’ll do each year. Fronts: Hawk DTC-60 pads

My oem brake pads, (‘23 A-91MT) are getting low ish after a year of driving her and going to the track. OEM ones seem expensive but they did last a hpde 1/2 driver a year.

I'm on my second one, a '19 Prius Prime I bought new has 507k miles on it today. About to do the first brake job on it soon.

I'm running Hawk HPS pads with Raybestos Professional grade rotors. Got 5 years out of my first set, at 6 years now on the current set.

I have Hawk HPS pads and they work great on the street and produce way less dust than stock pads.

2012 Prius, 202k miles, still with original brakes.

2017 Prius Prime, 110k miles, still with original brakes.

Both inspected annually by our mechanic. Both still going strong.

I ran the Hawk HP+, and had no complaints. Never did a whole lot of hard driving, but they held up in short bursts and were good for daily driving.

I’m a fan of the Hawk HP+ track pads! The bite and fade resistance is excellent. They’re a little squeaky on the street but not terrible.

I recently did the Hawk 5.0 pads and they are lacking on initial bite. Bit disappointing. Much better for repeated breaking tho, as they warm up.

I ran Hawk DTC60's for one event. They dust like crazy which isn't the end of the world by itself, but if the dust touches any moisture at all (like the rainy track day) it mixes into what I can only describe as ferrous concrete. So not only is the dust-crete impossible to remove by any normal means, it then rusts like crazy, turning whatever wheels you have into a runny orange mess. I tried multiple different wheel cleaners, multiple brushes, soaking, anything and nothing could get it off. I had to use scotch brite and scuff the hell out of the wheels to get it off. Fortunately I run cheap TRM wheels and it's a track-only car otherwise I would have been livid.
