I just got my first W12 Phaeton back from the dealer after her 141,621 mile service. Total cost for thorough once over, cleaning out of sunroof drains, repair of brake pad warning light due to corroded wire

Pros: thorough service, good dealer
Cons: corroded wire
Mileage: 141621 km

Jetta has been relatively trouble free but a few quirks here and there. Sometimes the electronics glitch and then figure themselves out. For some reason my car burns through bulbs like crazy, especially the rear lights. Rear brakes had to be replaced around 30-35k. However, the car is an absolute tank otherwise.

Pros: trouble free, absolute tank
Cons: electronics glitch, bulbs burn
Mileage: 52000 km

Big fan of engine breaking... In my 03 GLI I ended up selling her at 160,000...replaced rear brake pads once, and never the fronts... Clutch was still tight and never any problems.

Pros: long life, tight clutch
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 257500 km

I cant say that the CC brakes are small or bad really?! As being 345mm on the front and 310mm on the rear they are stopping the car really good actually.

Pros: stopping the car really good
Vehicle: Volkswagen Passat CC

My brakes are also "grabbier" and harder to modulate than my '16 GTI (312mm), which had great brake feel.

Pros: great brake feel
Cons: grabbier, harder to modulate
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Yep... had that happen with my GLI. Stg 1 A6 GLI and the brakes really couldn't keep up w/the car. Upgraded them to A6 Golf R fronts and no problem now stopping.

Pros: better stopping after upgrade
Cons: brakes couldn't keep up
Vehicle: Volkswagen

My front pads were noisy, kept the front wheels covered in dust and suffered from crystallisation due to severe driving conditions (temperature, humidity and slopes). The noise began at 1500mi and now at 6800mi it is so loud that it can be heard from 60ft away.

Cons: noisy, covered in dust
Mileage: 10944 km

I have a few friends who have MK7 GTI's and all of them complain about their stock brakes on the base model GTI, I wouldn't consider spending money on these units as your not really gaining anything.

Cons: not gaining anything
Vehicle: Volkswagen
