Brake pads Hella Pagid or OEM Volkswagen
I've been researching brake pads recently since I was looking for something to replace my awful Akebono pads up front. What I've learned is that Textar and Pagid are OEM pads and will have the "BMW brake feel". Textars are usually on the rears and Pagid on the fronts. Bosch is supposedly not quite as good as the other two. I bought the Pagid pads and man, what an improvement from the Akebono. I can stop again without having to jam on the brakes.
I run pagid rsl29 (yellow) and i have been a big fan -- but it seems like you either love them or hate them, no in between.I still have over 75% brake pad left after 11 days on track-- with that said, factory brake cooling is pretty good on my car's front brakes (M2 Competition). I think most folks whom have issues have inadequate cooling which leads to very high temps, which the rsl29 do not like
Pagid have done me surprisingly well on track days.
With pagid discs and pads i have never had this issue.
The CPO contract goes into effect once I replace the worn brakes (pads and rotors) which can happen anytime- Service Rep said I can do it anytime but preferably soon (end of summer)- the brakes are fine to drive on now though
I put in Hella pagid. They are fantastic
i had my brake pads and rotors replaced all round a month or two ago. mechanics quoted me $1000 but had it done by a family friend for around $700.
its just the pad compound VW is using because everyone get emotional about excessive brake dust..
Bad pads from VW don't ever use OEM pads on Arteon!
The front brakes have suddenly started vibrating under a heavy load on my Alltrack. The dealer replaced all rotors and pads just before I bought the car. the new brakes have about 6k miles on them.
