Brake pads Hella Pagid or OEM Volkswagen

OEM Volkswagen Brake pads

I never had an Audi but I have a 2009 VW Jetta that's still running, it's my grocery getter. The breaks have lasted since 2012 as insane as that is, there's still a 3/4th of carbon on the pads. I changed the oil all the time, grew up with a car dad. But if VW's are anything like Audi's just maintain it and it'll run for the next decade.

Pros: breaks have lasted

Hella Pagid Brake pads

I fitted a Pagid discs and pads (fronts and rears) to my Octavia vRS a couple of months back and don't notice any difference from the previous OEM. Paid £230 just for the parts.

Pros: no difference to OEM

You will need brake cooling/ducts or will need to remove the dust shield to get more airflow (or both), went through a brand new set of rear Pagid RS29 endurance pads in less than a weekend in July when I first got the first F80 years ago. The heat did a number on them in the afternoons with ambient temps over 90 and all the 150ish to 40ish and 130ish to 30ish on the back and front straights respectively

Cons: heat did a number

OEM Volkswagen Brake pads

I'm kind of disappointed with the factory VW pads that came with my 2019. My 2013 ran for 120K before the brakes needed replacement. Also, these pads leave a lot of brake dust on the side of the car.

Pros: long wear life
Cons: a lot of brake dust
Mileage: 42000 km

Secondly, defective Rear Disk Brake Pads that wore out on a majority of 22` Taos which was a covered rear Brake replacement if it was under 2ydears and 24 months. I just missed the cut-off and was$700 poorer.

Cons: wore out quickly
Vehicle: Volkswagen

OEM Volkswagen Brake pads

My front brake rotors warped at ~12K miles. I had them machined and they lasted about another 12k until I replaced them with aftermarket Centric. Those lasted ~12K miles until they warped. At this time I went back to VW OEM rotors and they lasted ~12k miles. I had the OEM's machined, but now they are warped again. Along the way I tried some aftermarket pads, and generally had problems I purchased a pair at NAPA and they were sloppy in the caliper and would shift and click when applying the brakes in reverse. Went back to OEM on the pads and have no problems.

Pros: OEM pads have no problems
Cons: rotors warped repeatedly, aftermarket pads sloppy
Mileage: 12000 km
