I would post up in some E90-specific forums and see if you can get some feedback there, or at least piston measurements to compare to your stock brakes.Like others have said, the biggest thing you're looking for is to not effect your brake bias. All this said, don't let this hold you back from getting some more seat time. Throw in some fresh fluid, maybe get the HT-10s (which I've had good luck with on track personally), and get some more days under you before spending money on mods.

Pros: good luck on track

The biggest difference in stopping power for me was installing hawk hps 5.0 pads. I have a lot more confidence driving my prius fast with these pads. I feel like I’m slowing down faster than I ever thought was possible. Honestly have to watch it cuz if you have people behind you they can’t slow down as fast. Someone break checked me today and it was a non issue stopping faster than the car in front of me but I have good tires as well. (avid ascent GT) Only problem with the pads (for gen 3) is they were too thick for me to install both pads with new EBC rotors so I had to rotate the pads in with one old oem and to shave them down (or you can sand them down)

Pros: increased stopping power, more confidence
Cons: pads too thick

Hawk HPS or HPS+ pads (I don't remember which I put on my R) but those were a great bang for your buck. They require a little bit more heat so I always get on them a little harder the first few braking efforts but once they are up to temp - Incredible IMO.

Pros: great value, incredible braking
Cons: needs more heat initially

I have a set of track pads for my 2015 STI. Hawk dtc70 in the front. Hawk dtc60 in the rear. I swap them the the day before its a pretty quick job with the brembos. Very loud on the street when cold though.

Pros: quick swap, good track performance
Cons: loud when cold
Vehicle: Subaru

Hawk Performance Brake pads

Just put on new rotors and Hawk pads. Thought I had some squeaking/squealing/grinding because the old ones needed replacing but the problem persisted on the new rotors and pads even after some time.

Last week I applied some Brake Parts Grease that came with my Hawk pads to the pins and bracket on the caliper. It seems to have removed the annoying squeak!!

Pros: removed squeak with grease
Cons: squeaking/squealing/grinding
Vehicle: Honda Civic

I only daily as well but I did a slight upgrade due to some spirited runs each year. I did Hawk ceramics and DBA T2 rotors. Theyre enjoyably different but likely overkill.

Pros: enjoyably different
Cons: likely overkill

You will find the HP+ pads are possibly the worst pads ever. You get all the downsides of track pads and street pads. The dust from Hawks will also eat your wheels.

Cons: worst pads ever, excessive dust
