Brake pads Hawk Performance or OEM Audi

Hawk Performance Brake pads

If you want upgraded pads. Try HAWK 5.0 pads. You can't go wrong with a better initial bit, better response and shorter stopping distance.

Pros: better initial bit, better response
Cons: may make noise

I run Hawk HPS which have reduced dust as compared to the factory OE Brembo pads. They are quiet enough too.

Pros: reduced dust, quiet

HAWK HPS 5.0 on mine currently - no complaints. Keeps the Linear pedal feel (doesnt bite hard in the beginning then dies out if that makes sense) and stops much better than the OEMs. It does dust a bit but nothing crazy.

Pros: linear pedal feel, better stopping
Cons: some brake dust

I really like my hawk er1’s. They work whether they’re cold or hot. I daily drive my rx8 during the summer, and drive to track days and autoX. They are squeaky and pretty dusty

Pros: work cold or hot
Cons: squeaky, pretty dusty
Vehicle: Mazda

WRT the Hawk Pads… I’ve run both compounds and for a beginner you’re not going to notice the difference. They’re both good track pads. Do not run them on the street or if you do try to minimize the time you are on them and know you will have horrible stopping distance when cold.

Pros: good track pads
Cons: not for street, poor cold stopping
