Fine for daily driving. Have the mid-range ones on our Forester and it stops, doesn't squeal, and they've been lasting.
Stoptech Rotors and SS Brakelines, Tyrolsport Caliper Guides and Hawk HPS pads.
I switched to Hawk HP Plus pads all around and I've been extremely happy with them
Also ordered Hawk HPS Brake Pads for all 4 corners as well as some needed new Rotors for the rear.
I have the Hawk Ceramic pads on one of my Porsche's and agree they are great pads, very good pedal feel, no squeal, and no dust.
I could not believe the improved braking performance after switching to Hawk ceramics on my GTI. Honestly it went from mediocre to great.
I bought Hawk HPS pads for my car directly from Hawk if I remember correctly.
I'm no brake expert but definitely don't go stock on the brake pads. I know HAWK is a big name on Performance Brake pads but I have never used them personally. It's just like anything else though, everyone's got their opinion on why brand \"X\" is the best when in reality they are all made in the same factory in China and you are really only paying for the name. I would look for something that says \"High Performance Street\" or similar that's designed to work properly with stock rotors / ABS / Etc.
The HPS were good for the street, dust wasn't bad, but I thought they weren't enough for me on the street, and definitely were not on the track (as I overheated them routinely).
I was at the track this weekend and basically, even with the hawk blues, the brakes just don't provide the clamping I need.
