Brake pads Ferodo or OEM Subaru

OEM Subaru Brake pads

Every single time I install non OEM brakes on my Subaru they warp within a year, my Subaru brakes always last me 3+years. I have replaced about a dozen brake kits in my driveways. The Subaru brakes are the best.

Pros: last 3+ years, best quality

Ferodo Brake pads

I switched to the Ferodo DSUno. I am satisfied with its performance, but they seem to struggle because of something. Today, after the track day on Saturday, I checked it and found a crack and a gnawed edge. Also, they have uneven wear, about 0.5-1mm difference. The differences are between the top and bottom parts of the pads, front and back parts and on different sides of the same rotor (inner and outer pads). Uneven wear was with the old pads as well. Recently, I installed brake air ducts, and after going out from the track, the temperature was, in the worst case, 480C degree, which looks fine for these pads. In total, I drove for about 3 hours on tracks, one on a wet track (so no hard braking) and two moderately/hard(8-9/10) braking. The brake rotors are also new, Zimmermann blank, installed with pads. The initial thickness of the pads is 16.4mm (with the plate, the plate is 5.5mm, so the "pure" pad is about 11mm) Currently, I have eaten about 4.5-5mm of the pads in 3 hours of tracking.

Pros: good performance, satisfied
Cons: uneven wear, cracked, gnawed edge

2017 STI 86,000 miles - I'm on my third set of rotors and 4th set of pads. It's definitely due to spirited driving.

Cons: frequent replacement
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 86000 km

OEM Subaru Brake pads

Mechanically, the wrx brakes are fine, but the feel is so freakin stiff compared to other cars that it really takes a bit to get used to. In emergency braking, you press the pedal thinking you'll stop fine, but you don't press hard enough and come in faster than you thought, press down harder and it's still not triggering abs, and you crash. It's so damn hard to trigger ABS in this car

Pros: mechanically fine
Cons: stiff feel, hard to trigger ABS
Vehicle: Subaru

The WRX has brakes that are worse than all of them. It takes an amount of pedal pressure that had me check if the power brakes were working. The brakes on the WRX are ass.

Cons: worse than others, high pedal pressure, are ass
Vehicle: Subaru
