Now that you have an actual motorsports caliper I would highly advise looking into EBC's SR-11 or SR-21s pads.

They are THE ONLY pad that will take some insane abuse on track, still be whisper quiet on the street, and work just as well at 0 degrees as they do at 1000 degrees.

Myself and a handful of other guys run them in time attack and I seriously have zero complaints. You honestly won't find a better pad, if you happen to have a caliper they fit in.

Pros: insane abuse on track, whisper quiet

I use Powerstop Ceramic brake pads. Ceramic pads last longer, brake smoother, and little to no brake dust on rims ????????

Pros: long lasting, smooth braking
Cons: little brake dust

I threw a set of drilled/slotted Z23 model PowerStop brakes on my 2013 TDI Beetle for shits and giggles because I had some extra cash and they've been superb. A bit loud but mashing them hard almost puts me through my windshield.

Pros: Superb braking performance
Cons: a bit loud

POWER STOP Brake pads

Powerstop track kit with ceramic pads. They have solid and Drilled/slotted rotors available both options. Around $300 for both front and rear. I run these on multiple cars when it’s time for brakes always an upgrade over stock.

Pros: upgrade over stock

Ive seen people go the full spectrum of pads, from cheapos to expensive. I’d go oem at a minimum, remember these are big heavy trucks that need a lot of stopping power. I’ve had a lot of luck with powerstop so far.

Pros: good stopping power

I recently installed EBC redstuff with new rotors. Did the bed in procedure and worked great for first 300 miles or so. Today, I noticed a really loud squeaking noise coming from one of my wheels. Noise starts after brakes are warmed up, and increases when turning the wheel. Goes away when I apply the brakes. Think my pads might be glazed after some sprites driving, but not like I’ve done anything crazy.

Pros: worked great initially
Cons: loud squeaking noise
Mileage: 300 km

the brakes on the VB are pretty bad with zero bite in the first few inches of brake travel. I’ve had the past 2 generations on WRXs for OEM brake comparison. Ordered a full set of EBC Ulitmax2 OEM replacement pads to help a bit.

Cons: zero bite, bad brakes
