Ya I had them on my a3 and it was dramatic difference than oem. Only down side is slotted and drilled make noise when you brake hard with them.

Pros: dramatic difference
Cons: noise when braking hard

POWER STOP Brake pads

I have used the power stop Z36 pads with drilled and slotted rotors on the last 3 trucks I’ve had. I love them. I tow a 8-12k pound dump trailer pretty regularly and have never had an issue. Even with the added weight, they still outlast and outperform OE style by a long shot.

Pros: outlast OE, good for towing

I ran EBC Redstuff on my 09 R56 and they were great. Very nice sporty braking but it wasn't overly aggressive and the noise and dust was pretty low. Made for a great daily driver with better than stock braking.

Pros: sporty braking, low noise
Cons: low dust
Vehicle: MINI

If you are looking for high performance, I can vouch for EBC Yellowstuff and Bluestuff NDX. Yellowstuff is a good high performance street pad. no noise even in cold including down to -29 deg C. There is some squeal if the car has sat in the rain the first time you touch the brake pedal but its quiet after. the pads have really strong bite and sustain heat fairly well but wear down rather quickly if you are doing track days. mine lasted 20,000 kms including 6 track days and 4 autoX events. under road driving conditions only, they last much longer. If you want something to last longer and be better suited for track but still be streetable, Bluestuff NDX will do that. they have similar bite to Yellowstuff but sustain higher temperatures and last longer.

Pros: strong bite, good heat sustain
Cons: wears quickly, some squeal when wet
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 20000 km

Z26 power stops with oem 1.8 brackets / calipers. They’re carbon ceramic brakes, they produce almost no brake dust, they don’t squeak at all and they brake REALLY good for street driving. ( get the power stops by rockauto as they’re way cheaper and you’ll get the better model for the price of the z23’s. Be sure to put in the 1994 year and not your 1.6 car so you get the bigger brakes Then get the calipers from treasure coast Miata ( they’ll be like 25$ each) . I just did that swap on my car and it’s phenomenal. ( I also got steel braided lines which makes the pedal feel so much better ). They fit perfect under my stock 14” daisys, the only thing I had to do was bend back the little brake dust guard on the rear brakes so they could clear it. ( because they’re made for 1.6’s. It takes about 10 minutes then you’re done )

All in all the brakes and calipers were about 500$ plus another 100$ for the steel braided lines which were definitely worth it. I’d just swap it all at once because your brake lines by now are expanded and unhappy.

Also I’d consider upgrading your cars brake fluid from the stock DOT 3 to DOT 4 which has a way higher heat tolerance and is good to drive on the streets. ( I recommend pentosin DOT 4 fluid which is what I run in my daily )

Pros: no brake dust, no squeak, good braking

I like EBC greenstuff. No louder than stock, good cold bite, and a little better heat resistance. Good for autocross and street, but they won't hold up on the track. And they don't produce a huge amount of dust, though it is more than oem.

Pros: good cold bite, heat resistance
Cons: won't hold up on track
