I switched to EBC Redstuff ceramics and am very happy. They’re quiet and the dust is light, and not brown. I think the performance is very comparable to OEM.

Pros: quiet, light dust

Installed EBC Yellow Stuff pads for rear, kept original rotors, without even turning. 1000km later amazing so far.

Pros: amazing performance
Mileage: 1000 km

Sometimes those alternatives work like K&N air filters or EBC brake pads for street use.

Pros: alternatives sometimes work

I use EBC Green Stuff. They are organic. More brake dust, but you really can feel the stopping power.

Pros: stopping power
Cons: more brake dust

EBC Brake pads

I have EBC Bluestuff on my M4. I think they are a good hybrid pad, and fine for sprint or autocross, but they will melt as an endurance pad. Sessions longer than 30 min on brake heavy courses and they will glaze.

Pros: good hybrid pad
Cons: melts in endurance
Vehicle: BMW M4

EBC Brake pads

I ordered Red stuff pads off of Amazon, with the car in my garage being a 2023 WRX, and the pads I got did not fit at all. In fact, the box said they were for a 2015/later Legacy.

Cons: incorrect fitment
Vehicle: Subaru
