Brake pads EBC or Hawk Performance

Hawk Performance Brake pads

I've owned an 01 225 Coupe for one year this past November. It's an AMU motor code and I love the car still. These are the things I have had to replace so far, not counting upgrades: Brakes & brake fluid & front rotors (Hawk HP, ATE superblue) $350

Pros: good braking
Vehicle: Audi TT
Mileage: 62000 km

At Sears Point, braking from 90+ three times per lap (2, 7, 11). Stock GTI vented rotors "work fine" with good fluid and Hawk Blues.

Pros: work fine under stress, good for track use
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I would recommend the TT brakes. Choose plain rotors if you are wary of drilled or slotted rotors, but those brakes with hawk pads (or something more appressive) should be fine. The added lever arm does help substantially, as well as the larger piston over stock.

Pros: added lever arm, larger piston

You will also find the HAWK HPS pads to be nice, however they do get more grabby after a few stops once they get some heat into them being that they are a middle of the road performance street pad. The HPS's will never be as grabby/difficult to modulate as the ultimate ceramics/stock pads though.

Pros: good for modulation, decent price
Cons: grabby after stops

Hawk Performance Brake pads

I'm running the ECS Stage 2v2 front and 1R rear BBKs, with Hawk HP+ in the front and HPS in the rear. I am running Pentosin Racing brake fluid. I have yet to experience fade on the track running this set-up

Pros: no fade on track

I have run HPS, HP+, DS2500, and P+. Blues are in another world entirely from HPS. HPS is a decent, not great, street pad. It isn't low dust, but it is firm and even friction. HP+ is more bitey, quite firm, squeals like a baby, and dusts like crazy.

Pros: firm and even friction
Cons: not a great street pad, isn't low dust
