Brake pads EBC or Bosch
Calipers cleaned up with new EBC pads, as well as a complete fluid flush.
Just had Stoptech slotted front rotors, EBC ceramic brake pads and Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluid installed on my 2016 GSW....BIG improvement at reasonable price....
I just had Stoptech slotted rotors & EBC ceramic brake pads installed in front along with Motul 5.1 brake fluid -- great improvement in stopping power at a reasonable cost
Mine were equally grooved, if not more so. The stock pads have a high metal content and this eats away at the rotors. I recently changed my front rotors and pads for Stoptech Slotted + EBC red ceramic pads. Rotors are noticeably higher quality, and the pads are pretty good as well, though they dust considerably more than my stock ones did.
EBC pads come with special brake-in layer to deglaze rotors. And this is what they recommend (came with pads): I have them on my Tig. Excellent low dust, high performance pads.
OK lets stir it up. I have a 2017 R and like many of you the dust on the front brakes was awful. So I decided to get EBC REDS. Great pad very low dust (still some) but bedding them in probably like most was a puss on reak in.
I use EBC yellow and really enjoyed them. I found I wasn't able to get the pads to bed properly on a used rotor and had much better luck with a fresh rotor from EBC with my yellowstuff.
Pads: I like EBC Redstuff.
Yellowstuff lastet one track day (6 sessions of 30min) and maybe 200 miles to get to the track. It went metal to metal about 5 minutes before end of day. I liked the bite they had and I had absolutely no fading
We had really bad luck with EBC yellows, had a pad seperate from the backing plate, then the next set warped after one track day. Never again.
