I ran EBC Redstuff on my 09 R56 and they were great. Very nice sporty braking but it wasn't overly aggressive and the noise and dust was pretty low. Made for a great daily driver with better than stock braking.

Pros: sporty braking, low noise
Cons: low dust
Vehicle: MINI

Can't go wrong as its OEM replacement parts. That said, if you hate brake dust as much as I do, you could consider going with akebono ceramic pads. I went with pagid rotors and akebono ceramic pads when I did my big brake kit a year or so ago and love both the pedal feel and low brake dust. Factory pads have a bit more initial bite, but i prefer the more progressive feel of the akebonos which allows for smoother braking.

Pros: low brake dust, smooth braking
Cons: less initial bite

My oem rotors warped around 45k. Had an Indy install Stoptech rotors and Akebono ceramic pads and they lasted over 100k, with no brake dust.

Pros: long lasting, no brake dust
Cons: rotors warped at 45k
Mileage: 100000 km

If you are looking for high performance, I can vouch for EBC Yellowstuff and Bluestuff NDX. Yellowstuff is a good high performance street pad. no noise even in cold including down to -29 deg C. There is some squeal if the car has sat in the rain the first time you touch the brake pedal but its quiet after. the pads have really strong bite and sustain heat fairly well but wear down rather quickly if you are doing track days. mine lasted 20,000 kms including 6 track days and 4 autoX events. under road driving conditions only, they last much longer. If you want something to last longer and be better suited for track but still be streetable, Bluestuff NDX will do that. they have similar bite to Yellowstuff but sustain higher temperatures and last longer.

Pros: strong bite, good heat sustain
Cons: wears quickly, some squeal when wet
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 20000 km

Akebono Brake pads

AKEBONO PRO-ACT ULTRA PREMIUM are available at Napa and I hear are some of the quietest brake pads you can get over the life span of the pad. They're ceramic pads which won't make your miata sound like a school bus

Pros: quiet, long lifespan

EBC Brake pads

They're a great fast street pad. I liked them for daily use and the occasional Pass or backroad run but they're just not great for a track day. They get chewed up fairly quick and overheat quickly as well.

Pros: great street pad
Cons: not great for track, overheat
