Brake pads Centric or OEM Volkswagen

Install these. You will be glad you did....reduces brake dust by 90%. No difference in performance. I am 15K miles into mine and love these pads.

When I replaced the brakes on my 2016 Performance Package GTI, I took my local shop's recommendations on an "upgraded" pad for the fronts. The next month, I experienced so much squeaking when I applied the brakes that I went back to the shop and asked them to put stock pads back on. I've been happy every since. I would recommend stock pads from VW.

My wife's 2017 Alltrack had uneven brake pad wear on one of the front brakes. Upon inspection what had happened is one of the little rubber booties on the brake caliper wasn't correctly put on at the factory. Over time brake dust got in so it wouldn't slide and that caused it to wear unevenly.

Brakes felt great for a bone stock car. i was surprised at the amount of dust.

I have the Centric Posi-Quiet on our Atlas - the most dust-free pad I've ever used but of course that comes at the price of not being able to handle heat.

The pads are very smooth but tend to creak at very low speed (like <2 mph) and they're very grabby when wet. 20k miles and they're maybe halfway worn down despite a lot of city driving and some very hard braking on a couple of mountain roads.

its just the pad compound VW is using because everyone get emotional about excessive brake dust..

Just got back from the dealer who did an inspection and acknowledged the problem and that it was widespread. However, \"all they can do it tell you whether they're safe or not\". Of course, they're safe but they are also embarassing and, to my wife, anxiety producing thinking that the brakes are about to fail. It's an indictment on the factory that they would allow so many reported issues to go unaddressed, and that they would use ****ty brake pads.

Got mine in November of 2021 and have had the same squealing and grinding issue. Sometimes it's a high-pitched whistle. Going to look at the ceramic brake pads that someone suggested, but its a shame that VW does not address.
