I just put Bosch QuietCast pads and rotors on my Volvo and they’re great.
On my recent rear brake job on the Mazda5 I ordered Bosch pads through Amazon. They seem to be doing the job and I have no complaints.
Job got done in about three evenings Biggest time sinks were figuring out how to use the caliper piston compression tool and getting my overtorqued/rusted lug nuts off. Drove up from Maryland to NYC with no problems so I think I did the job right.
I've used the cheapo Wearever rotors/pads from autoparts stores, and the Bosch Quietcast. Hands-down, as long as I can afford it, I will be using QuietCast if it's available.
I use Bosch ceramics on mine and they're amazing.
I went with Bosch QuietCast rotors and pads . The Akebono pads performed well, but wore out faster than I'd expected. I don't know if the low wear on them caused scoring of the rotors or if it was the calipers not doing a proper job... but I did not detect a loss in brake performance, which was really strange. This was happening to the rear, so maybe the front end brake system was compensating.
Also my rear brakes say Bosch on the center of the pad so mine could be different from yours if yours aren’t showing the brand.
I have the TRW TPC1633 ceramic pads installed, perfect fit (OEM) and brake as good as stock...actually smoother. Dust is reduced maybe by half.
TRW Ceramic pads, look identical to OEM, since TRW makes the OEM pads. Feel same as stock, way down on dust.
I replaced my brake pads front and rear today with some good quality Ceramic pads. I had just done the fronts a couple months ago but I used some Bosch pads that one of the parts suppliers gave me to try. They were supposed to be their best. They were quiet and smooth but produced crazy dust!
