I run ATE Ceramic pads with Zimmerman rotors on my MK7 and am very satisfied.
I put ATE on my 335is a year ago and am very happy with them. Almost no dust and good stopping power. When they were new, the initial bite was a bit weak, but that went away after break in.
For normal use, I recommend ceramic pads like ATE Ceramic, EBC green/red stuff or TRW D-TEC, since they're lower dust, and lower heat. Otherwise, go with Ferodo Premier eco friciton.
ATE Ceramic pads and ATE disks are my go to because they are OEM, but a little extra performance on top. Zero complaints at all from me and they are quite reasonable price wise too
ATE ceramic. low dust and good braking
ATE make low dust pads that don’t need warming up like previous ceramic pads. I have them on my MK5 and they are great. Don’t have that annoying instant bite that stock pads do. Also they go forever
While I am not overly impressed with the stopping power for the price, I am impressed with how much less they wear after a track day.
Mintex is a step below the OEM Jurid/ATE/TRW pads in terms of friction coefficient. Mintex is an upgrade when it comes to dust. Right now, running Akebono Euro Ceramics... I won't come to my verdict until winter.
mintex reds are WORSE than stock in my opinion....i bought some, and got ride of em a few months later
Driving home today, and I had to brake HARD to avoid a collision, the fade was awful - the pedal went straight to the floor - no ABS activation, NOTHING... Got home and the fronts are SMOKING, and the rears are completely toast - I mean GONE - there is almost NO friction material left, and a PILE of it on my wheels... These had seen NO track usage, and NO abuse in the last thousand miles... thanks a lot MINTEX - you've made an angry customer for life...
