I would recommend going with Mintex Redbox brakepads for your car because they produce significantly less brakedust than the VW brand pads from the dealership, and cost less!!
My brakes on the front went at around 30K. I bought Zimmerman crossdrilled rotors, stainless brake lines, Mintex pads, and new fluid for all four wheels. I had the local Midas shop do the complete install for $200.
The Mintex are good pads that hardly dust.
I had Ferodo pads on an earlier VW and really liked them. Now I have Mintex on this car and they are have better feel than the stock pads and make MUCH less dust.
I also have the Mintex red box, they have been good for me
I have Mintex pads, and I like them. Almost no dust. other Brian has Ferodo pads, and he has told me that he is not happy with them.
I used Pagid, Feroda, then Pagid, now Mintex Red.. once these are worn I'm back to Pagids.
I should also add that the Mintex Red pads that BLUE NRG is using are one of the faster bedding pads on the market and have a much wider operating temperature than most high performance pads and certainly most race pads.
I got Mintex pads from Autotech for my 97 Jetta 2.0 in Jan. I do a fair amount of city driving and drive the car kind of hard all the way around. Mintex pads worked great with almost no dust and were much better in the rain. (stock pads sucked in the rain) I only had them on the car for 5K then car got wrecked but I plan to get them for the new one..
