I put ATE performance discs & ceramic pads on my e39. The discs won't make a difference but it's nice to pair up brands. Ceramic pads make a huge difference to the amount of dust though.
Praf aproape deloc.
Volvo uses ATE, Textar brake pads, Zimmerman, Brembo, ATE rotors. i've been using these volvos for years and have had no problems.
Lol definitely avoid duralast. My favorite combo is Centric OE coated rotors and Centric posi-quiet pads.
Personally very much like ATE ceramic pads.
OEM brake pads from Audi are mostly good for day to day braking, and some sporty, but not daily very aggressive driving. But they do a lot of dust and noise sometimes. I found the solution to be just change the pads for "ATE Ceramic" if you don't use your car to do track days and very frequent sporty driving. These don't have ceramic components, it's mostly marketing, but they do have two good characteristics from Ceramic pads, mostly zero noise when heated and almost zero dust! And the low dust it produces, it's not black. Breaking power it's maybe a little better coming from OEM, but nothing crazy. Do not use sport discs with ATE Ceramic, the brand actually advises to use normal discs with these.
Sounds like way too much for a basic A200. For a dealership I guess it's normal but you can get equal quality ATE brakes for much less than the original Mercedes parts.
YES! i have the same issue and its mental. DBA Slotted Rotors and the Street Performance (Green) Pads, clunk over bumps and when moving back/forward D/R etc. Rattle is 99% from the left side / without the depth check. DBA said to extend the shims so they stick out further, and it works temporarily for about a day, then back to normal. Everyone is recommending the ATE pads, so I might try them, but if these rattle too not sure what to do...
