Brake pads Akebono or Hawk Performance

Hawks HPS 5.0, that's what I have on my Jetta, that's what I'll be putting on the Camaro soon.

My fronts were still new but decided to ditch them for the Akebonos because I was tired of the break dust.

Ecs tuning 2piece rotors and hawk hp plus pads. Minimal dust, great stopping, and no rust.

my solution to the braking challenge was replacing both front & rear with Slotted / cross drilled performance rotors from ECS. I used Akebono Pads and i now have excellent brake response...

Porsche Cayenne (18Z) calipers in front w/ ML55 345mm rotors & Hawk HPS pads 034 Motorsport 300mm rotor conversion in rear w/ new calipers & Hawk HPS pads Braided stainless brake lines all around Brake fluid flushed and replaced with Motul RBF 600 ST coilovers (KW's entry-level brand)

Have always used Centric Premium rotors with Akebono ProAct ceramic brake pads to good effect. Good brake bite, low dust, low noise, and longevity.

Akebono are probably the best quality pads that you can get from Rockauto.

I do really like the Hawk HPS pads. They cost a little more, but I think they are worth it.

Driving the Golf R made me not buy it. I have a 2009 MKV TSI base model 6mt with APR Stg 2 (intake, chip, downpipe) upgraded stock brakes (hawk HPS, ss lines, dot 4 fluid), KW V3 coilovers (both rebound and compression adjustable) and it was faster, handled better and braked similarly to the Golf R.

my HPS are now cooked after my track events. They're also getting noticeably more dusty, too. I'm going to be getting better pads before my next event. My last trip to Limerock, they were fading bad after only a lap. But, they held up for a long time before that.
