always a safe bet to get a good optima battery, i drained my cheapo oem battery several times before i became fed up with it. optima has help up great
I've owned a red top for the last two years which I know is not very long but haven't had any problems either.
I have had an optima for my Jeep Wrangler for close to 3 years. Never any problems. I have left the lights on a few times too draining the battery... never any problems after recharging either... not sure why everybody hates them.
I have an optima Yellow top in my GLI. Everything went in easy... very awesome battery i must say. I have a large sound system with a cap and this battery has never failed me.
I just pick one up from the junk yard for $15 and they offer a 30 day warranty. You can find a nice optima used for around $60-$80 in this area
i've got the yellow top, installed from the previous owner. it doesn't fit my battery cover too well, but boy does the yellowtop have plenty of CCAs, my start is much stronger than my friend's .:R32 (battery from dealer).
I just have a red top Optima in there. It is the only batteries I'll buy after the one in my truck went through so much hell and survived many years of abuse.
I liked my old optima. lasted 7 years. I've heard the new ones are Interstate brand now and are no good. I will not buy again based on what I've been hearing. too bad.
Yellow tops are great, but since they switched the Redtop to the new design, it's a joke.
I had the yellow top in my 97 and It was nothing but problems, I know that doesnt help you answer your questions... Just saying
