Just got the notification on my 2019 m3p. Scheduled an appointment for Tuesday. 6 years and 1 month of ownership 77k miles in Ohio. Pretty good longevity if you ask me!
OEM batteries are made from fairy dust. I still have my original one in my E92, made in 2007. Def recommend getting an OEM battery.
The batteries easily last 300k miles even if they're not well taken care of.
I\u2019m glad I have a Tesla with a 16v LV lithium Ion battery. Should last the life of the car like the HV battery.
BMW here. No issues.
Tried them all at some point and whatever BMW OE does to those they last 2-3X longer. I literally just replaced a 14 year old battery last September….fuckin insane longevity with the OEM ones.
As promised: 2019 M3 LR , 55k miles/88514km, latest Tesla Battery Health Test 83%
A bit worse than expected.
I’m not satisfied with the range (70 miles) or the charging speed (max 19.2 kW via J-1772, taking 4 to 13 hours to charge) of the BMW batteries in my Lion Type C electric school bus.
battery life is astonishingly unpredictable. I drove 20 miles, but lost ~35 miles of range. Not driving crazy, either. Everything else is decent, but can't help but feel like it's a time bomb.
