I have an optima red top 34/78. Its incredible. Been almost 3 years in and no matter how much I throw at it on the trails I dont get dead cells. The individual gel cells are less perceptible to shake damage from rough terrain.

Pros: incredible performance, durable on trails, no dead cells

I put that same Optima in 6 years ago (to the month!). Mines still fine knock on wood

Red optima battery on my 93 integra 10 yrs old still starts.

FWIW, my post is the top one, I did not go with an OEM battery after reading through other threads where users had issues finding one in stock and instead went with the Optima YellowTop that was recommended on their site. I have had zero issues.

Pros: zero issues

I recently switched to an Optima Red Top 35 Series which has 720 CCA.

Used redtops for years. Had a couple go bad, but 3 year free replacement warranty solved that.

Pros: 3 year free replacement

I'd be more concerned about the Optima battery - they have been crap quality for years now. Probably better than VW OEM junk though.
