Battery OEM Toyota or OEM Volkswagen
Im still on the original battery despite it being outside on -35 unplugged.
I did this accidentally and my car never stops at traffic. After 3 years the original battery died and I had to replace. I replaced with an after market battery that matches the ratings but not from Toyota dealer. Ooops all works fine except the auto start stop. it says \"incompatible battery\" but never shuts off at traffic signals.
Paid $350 US recently for a 12 volt for a 2018. Yep, I know that's a lot, but I was at the dealership getting routine maintenance done and it tested borderline. Knew this to be true and was carrying a jumppack. However, it's with a lifetime warranty. That sold me.
I bought a Toyota Truestart for $224 USD with taxes. Swapped it in the dealer parking lot in about 5 minutes, took the old one back in for the core charge.
I just preemptively changed my 2007 VW golf battery at 120k...I probably could have gone farther but every now and again I would get a weird code that likely was voltage relative.
I have a 10+ year old Prius C that had a 100k-mile warranty on the battery. It failed at 108k and cost $4k to replace. It's at 230k miles now, and I expect to have to replace it again (but who knows?)
My cousin has a 2018 Atlas and a month ago he called me and said he car wouldn't start. It'd just rapidly click. So I drove over there and gave him a jump. Still wouldn't start. So I thought maybe it's the starter motor. Called a bunch of repair shops and they said the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.
I've got an essentially new Golf R only about 3 months old and I think my battery is no good. I keep it connected to a battery tender as I dont'drive it often. Even after a week of being connected it never reaches full charge. Also, After I discomnect I put a quick load on it by turning on the lights in order to remove the surface charge from the battery tendder. Prior to putting the load on and just after disconnecting the battery tender the rading is 12.8Votls. After putting the load on by turning on the lights for a minute the voltage reading then drops to 12.28 which seems awfully load. I'm assuming my battery is no good.
