Duralast Battery

Rating 5.0

I replaced mine in my driveway with a same size AutoZone Duralast Gold. With a coupon, I was out the door for less than $200. The car wintered outdoors at a Vermont ski resort and always started.

Pros: always started, affordable price

OEM Nissan Battery

Crappy "genuine VW battery/parts" for you. Any of my other OEM Japanese car batteries lasted much longer. My 2011 Nissan 370z OEM battery lasted 7 years. It could've probably gone even longer if not for without driving it for long during the covid pandemic.

Pros: long lifespan
Cons: crappy quality
Vehicle: Nissan

OEM Nissan Battery

San Antonio Leaf driver here, a Leaf is fine in Texas as long as you don't want to do road trips (battery heating gets to be an issue around 250 miles on a 40kWh on the interstate). This sub is overwhelmingly negative on the Leaf, despite it being a good local commuter.

Pros: fine for local commuter
Cons: battery heating on road trips
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

Duralast Battery

I usually run the Duralasts just because AutoZone is everywhere and I usually get it replaced twice before the warranty runs out - Phoenix is brutal on batteries.

Pros: widely available
Cons: short lifespan, frequent replacement
