The Mazda OEM battery only lasts 3 years it seems. I have a 2021 and just changed the battery for similar reasons. It still started with no issues but it was pretty weak and was immediately noticeable after installing the new one. If you can afford it, the extra money for an AGM is worth it.
We have a 2009 Fiesta 1.4 petrol and replaced the battery with a Bosch battery 5 years ago after the same issue. The car does a few short journeys a week so not ideal but there's no signs that the battery is about to go flat.
Yuasa are high quality. I generally get Bosch S4 or S5 as they've never let me down.
Still running on its original battery that came with the car.
New battery fitted and all ok for about 2 months, then same problem. Took new battery out (AGM Bosch S5 A08) and charged it on the bench, left it there overnight. Next morning its reading 12.2v.
There is a known random issue with 400 packs. On mine, it is always when I turn on the bike. The speedometer doesn't come on and there is no assist. What I learned about on the internet is to push the test button on the battery with the bike turned on and it will reset and work just fine.
My cx30’s 2023 battery died as I was coming to a stop sign. As I was rolling to the stop sign my breaks failed hit the car Infront of me and the could not get my car to start.
Mazda OEM batteries known for underpowered and short shelf life. If you are in any kind of extreme climate for more than one season, there's a likely chance of failure.
162km at 42% battery is still kinda poor for 2025.
My 2025 CX-30 battery is already showing signs of dying but I bought the car in April but then had surgery in June and only went back to work today so it sat for long periods and I do leave my dash cam in parking mode. It might come back some after being driven more or it might not.
